Burn-up rate

Definition:

The burn-up rate describes the maximum propagation speed of the burn zone of solids.

 

Testing method: 

Guideline 92/ 69/ EWG

The burn-up rate of a 25 cm long pouring ignited at one end with a gasflamme is measured over a temporally seized length of 10 cm.

 

Safety-relevant meaning:

 

The combustibility index is similar to the burn-up rate a criterion for the behaviour in case of fire.

The characteristic is relevant for the marking after dangerous material and danger property right.
